Everything the Clinical Suite has delivered so far, in the order it arrived, with links to how to use each part.
The Clinical Suite is being delivered in stages. This page lists every stage that is complete today, what it gave you, and where to learn to use it. Dates are when each stage was completed.
Stage 1 — Foundation (15 September 2026)
The groundwork every later piece depends on. You don't see a screen for it, but it's why everything else works.
- A single add-on. The Clinical Suite is switched on as one add-on for your workspace — see Getting access to the Clinical Suite.
- Fourteen permission lines. Your Roles & Permissions now has a Clinical Suite module with one line per clinical module, grouped into Patient Records & Care, Advanced Clinical Workflows and Drug & Clinical Reference Tools. Each line has its own View / Create / Edit / Delete, so you can allow, say, appointments for the front desk without opening up anything else. The Owner has all of them automatically.
- Automatic record numbers. Patient numbers (MRNs) are generated by the system so they never clash.
- A history of who did what. Clinical actions are written to your workspace's activity history like the rest of BusinessCopilot.
- Online only, on purpose. Clinical screens need an internet connection on every platform.
Stage 2 — Patients (17 September 2026)
The patient record — the spine every other clinical module attaches to.
- The patient list with search and filters — Finding and filtering patients.
- Adding and editing a patient with identity, contact, insurance, allergies, chronic conditions, emergency contacts and reminder preferences — Adding a patient, Editing and deleting a patient.
- The patient record with a Dashboard, Allergies, Conditions and Vitals tabs, plus a strip of placeholder tabs for the stages still to come — The patient record.
- Vitals with automatic BMI — Logging vitals.
- Deleting to the Recycle Bin, so a mistaken delete can be undone.
- Import from CSV, and export to CSV or Excel — Importing and exporting patients.
- A printable PDF of a patient record (Web and Desktop).
- Available on Web, Desktop and the mobile app — On each platform.
Stage 3 — Appointments, scheduling, follow-ups and reminders (19 September 2026)
Patient engagement: getting patients in the door, and back again.
- Provider schedules and time off — Setting provider schedules and time off.
- Booking from open slots, with overlap warnings and an audited override for booking outside working hours — Booking an appointment.
- The calendar in Day, Week, Month and Agenda views — Using the calendar.
- The full appointment life cycle — confirm, start, complete, no-show, reschedule (with history kept), cancel and delete — Managing an appointment.
- Automatic reminders by SMS and email, quiet hours, SMS sender ID requests, and a Reminders to send list for anything that couldn't go out on its own — Patient reminders, Sending reminders by hand.
- Follow-ups with priorities, due dates, assignment, manual and automatic escalation, and morning alerts — Follow-ups.
- Appointment alerts on the patient Dashboard and an Appointments tab on every patient record.
- The Desktop and mobile versions of all of the above, and a platform-wide safety switch that can turn automatic texting off (you'd see "Automatic SMS is switched off" and your texts would wait in Reminders to send).
Stage 4 — Recurring appointments and the waitlist (20 September 2026)
- Repeat an appointment daily, weekly or monthly, with the ability to change or cancel just one visit, this and following, or the whole series — Recurring appointments.
- A waitlist for patients who want an earlier slot, with a staff alert when a cancellation matches — The waitlist.
Stage 5 — The confirmation link (20 September 2026)
- A private link for every appointment that lets the patient confirm, or say they can't make it, with no login — The confirmation link.
- Staff notes and an alert when a patient confirms or declines online.
Stage 6 — Live updates (20 September 2026)
- Screens that update themselves when a colleague — or an automatic job — changes an appointment, follow-up, reminder or waitlist entry — Live updates.
Stage 7 — Insights and smart scheduling (20 September 2026)
- Insights — no-show, cancellation and confirmation rates, provider utilization, busiest days and hours, and a "Needs a call" list — Insights.
- No-show risk labels with reasons — No-show risk.
- Suggested times, a Next available finder and careful overbooking hints in the booking form — Suggested times and overbooking hints.
Stage 8 — Review fixes and your own types (20 September 2026)
A review of the appointments stage found gaps, and they were closed together with a request for custom types:
- Your own appointment and follow-up types, with a usual length for appointments, and a new Types tab — Your own appointment and follow-up types.
- The calendar opens on Month.
- The calendar never drops appointments — a busy month with more than 500 is now loaded in full.
- Two people acting at once can no longer clash — cancel/complete, two reschedules, or two conversions of one follow-up now let exactly one through — Managing an appointment.
- Reminders can't be texted twice, even if two of the system's workers run at the same moment, and a change of provider rewrites the queued messages so they name the right person — Patient reminders.
- Time off respects branches — a branch-restricted user can no longer see or remove another branch's time off — Setting provider schedules and time off.
- Follow-up alerts are one per branch, not one per follow-up — Follow-ups.
- Anyone who can create a follow-up can now choose an assignee (the list used to need Edit permission).
- An approved SMS sender ID can't be reset by mistake.
Stage 9 — Clinical Notes (21 September 2026)
Structured notes on every patient, with files, search and a way to keep sensitive notes to the right people:
- SOAP notes with a title, type, priority, tags, a note date and an optional link to an appointment — Writing a clinical note.
- The patient's vitals at the time, saved with each note and never changed afterwards.
- Search through titles, SOAP text and tags, with prefix matching, exact phrases, exclusions, ranking and highlighted excerpts; plus filters by type, priority, tag, author and date — Finding and searching notes.
- Bulk changes to type, priority and tags on up to 100 notes, and bulk delete.
- Private files on a note — PDF, images and Word documents — Files on a note.
- Confidential notes. A new permission line, Confidential Clinical Notes, decides who can read, search, edit and download them; everyone else sees a locked entry with just the date. Reads, denied attempts and flag changes are recorded — Confidential notes.
- Editing with a trail, and delete-and-restore through the Recycle Bin — Editing and deleting notes.
- Notes Insights — counts by type, priority, month, author and tag — Notes Insights.
- Your own note types — Your own note types.
- The Clinical Notes tab on the patient record is now live on all three platforms, and the patient Dashboard shows a real Clinical Notes count.
The Clinical Suite permission list now has a fifteenth line for the confidential gate. Nothing about your existing patients or appointments changes.
Stage 10 — Clinical Encounters and triage (21 September 2026)
A structured, safety-first visit workflow for pharmacists, in place of the originally planned coded diagnosis list:
- Clinical encounters — record why the patient has come, their symptoms, severity, duration and vitals, for any of nine visit types, with a Type 2 Diabetes review form — Starting a clinical encounter.
- A triage safety check made of fixed, explainable rules (not AI), with six outcomes and a reason for every warning sign — The triage safety check.
- A hard escalation gate. A high-risk finding stops the encounter until you document what you did; continuing without escalating needs a reason and a clinical justification, recorded permanently — Escalation and overrides.
- Possible conditions with a confidence label and the findings for and against each, then your decision, an optional follow-up task, and a SOAP note drafted for you to edit and sign — Possible conditions, your decision and signing.
- Diagnoses — recorded from an encounter or directly, as Confirmed, Possible or Clinical consideration — Diagnoses.
- Oxygen saturation can now be recorded with vitals.
Stage 11 — AI-Assisted Clinical Reasoning (21–22 September 2026)
AI features added on top of clinical encounters:
- AI Clinical Reasoning — an opt-in second opinion panel at the assessment step, with clinical reasoning, possible contributing factors and next-step recommendations — AI clinical reasoning.
